Nagarjuna, a verdant hill, is full of forests, and the hill gets its name from great Buddhist philosopher – Nagarjuna, who meditated for several years on the top of the hill. The climbing area is formed of limestone rock, which is 12 t 15 m high and sometimes referred to as – piton scarred, or ‘a def-aced face’ by the purists.

To reach the hill, you need to follow the dirt road and the wooded trail from the valley. The climbing site is near-sacred Buddhist site Langlungten, Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), which receives a lot of visitors besides those who come for climbing purposes. The pilgrims and hikers fill the region along with climbers.

The exciting climbing will take you through 21 routes, 55 m high on a dizzying cliff of limestone. For Nagarjun rock climbing, one does not have to be an expert climber but is suitable for all kinds of climbers, including beginners. It is an outdoor activity that lets you evaluate your strength, tolerance, balance, and provide you satisfaction. With the pristine views of mountain ranges like Annapurna, Langtang, Machhapuchre, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal, the location is one of the perfect ones from the valley to witness the Himalayas.

The Nagarjun Rock Climbing can be performed solo or in groups, and it does not have to be a considerable group. If you are a wall rat and can do it on your own, it is a free climbing for you, but in case of professional guidance, there is a certain amount allocated for that.
