One of the most famous villages of Nepal – Dingboche, lies in the Khumbu Valley of Solukhumbu district in Eastern Nepal. The village is mostly visited by trekkers of mountains like Mount Everest and pilgrims of Tengboche Monastery – the biggest monastery of the region. The communities of the village depend entirely upon tourism.
Dingboche village, located at an altitude of 4,410 m from the sea level, is mostly famous for acclimatization day for trekkers heading towards the base camp of Everest, Ama Dablam, or Island Peak. The Island Peak River flows from the east of the village, a new site for the visitors. You will find no roads to Dingboche, and the only means of transportation are Yaks and Helicopter. Even porters can help you carry your loads.
The best time to visit the village is in Spring and Autumn seasons between March to April and October and November. During these months, the sky is clear, and the visibility of the mountains is maximum. The climate is cool and rainy during summer and dry and cold during winter because of the high altitude. It is better to avoid trekking during winter because only a few accommodations are open, and trekking is also quite challenging due to cold and snow.
