Flight and Getting Around

Different kinds of flights served by Nepal include International, Domestic, and Mountain Flights. The only international airport and the biggest airport in Nepal in operation is Tribhuvan International Airport – TIA, located at Kathmandu. Another international airport at Pokhara will be under service from 2021; its construction work is over.

Airways and roadways are the most popular mediums for getting around Nepal with Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, etc. being the major destinations. With 43 domestic airports, there are extensive domestic air networks provided by several airlines. The most common local air routes for international tourists are between Kathmandu and Pokhara, Meghauli, and Lukla at reasonable prices. The prices can hike and fall depending upon various factors like traffic, and season. Some popular airlines of Nepal are Nepal Airlines (owned by Federal Parliament of Nepal), Buddha Airlines, Yeti Airlines, Shree Airlines, etc.

Another most popular flight option in Nepal is Mountain Flight, which starts from TIA. One-hour long mountain flights provide you a magnificent view of Everest with a reasonable price and different offers. It is a seasonal flight where every passenger receives a window seat and get an equal opportunity to enjoy the views of the Everest.

With the least developed roads, Nepal cannot provide reliable road trips until you charter a private vehicle, which is still risky during monsoon. Though the public buses are cheap and can be booked quickly, tourists consider flying unless they have no choice because airways are safer than roadways in Nepal. Booking of domestic flights has quite a straightforward procedure with multiple facilities.

You can charter helicopters for travel purposes with price ranging from $4500 to $5000 that allows 4 to 5 people to travel. With a chartered Heli, you can enjoy Everest Base Camp, Langtang National Park, Annapurna Base Camp, etc. Several other routes that are popular for tourists.
