Ganga – Jamuna is a camping trek that takes you through different villages with diverse ethnic groups like Newar, Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri, etc. and provide you a combination of cultural differences and natural beauty. The trek is named after a famous twin waterfall called Ganga and Jamuna, the star attraction of the trek.
One of the unspoiled and virgin trails, Ganga Jamuna, lets you witness majestic mountain peaks like Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Manaslu range, Lamjung Himalchuli, Annapurna range, and some other peaks. Enriched with fascinating flora and fauna, the trail is full of rhododendrons, pines, and other vegetation that make the trail attractive.
The destination is famous as a pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists with famous Tripura Sundari Temple and other Buddhist monasteries that lies at Salyankot. These pilgrimage sites attract a lot of devotees who also sacrifice animals to the deity on several occasions. A famous fair is conducted every year in November before three days of the full moon. A sacred stone is present in the region that is believed to be the origin of the river and is considered holy by Hindu pilgrims.
Kukure Dhara (Dog Spring) is another gem of the trek which is believed to be sacred. Locals believe that if someone dips into the spring will never get rabies or get rid of rabies if they already suffer from it.
