Perfect Time to Travel Nepal

Nepal might not feel the same as described in books and movies if you travel on the wrong month or season! Regarded as the gateway to paradise, the gates of mountains do not open every day of the year because of varying climatic conditions. June to September, it is rainy and is the most unpleasant time to travel. The roads and trails are covered with mud, and the views of the mountains are obscured.

If your sole purpose is to trek, you should travel between October and November as you get to see the best of Nepal on your entire trail! Nepal’s most popular festivals like Dashain and Tihar also fall around these months, letting you have the unique experience of Hindu festivals. The only problem that you might face while traveling on these months is the crowd of local and international tourists making your stay less comfortable at hotels. But it is not a big issue if you manage to book rooms in advance or take guides along with you.

December brings dramatic temperature, and it lasts till February making your trek to mountains extreme. But these months are perfect for exploring outstanding forests of the Terai region like Chitwan National Park, and Bardiya National Park. Sight-seeing of unique flora and fauna, mind-blowing landscapes, and mysterious jungles will make your tour a memorable one at these months.

If you want to witness rhododendrons, the national flower of Nepal, wait until April. April to June is the second perfect time to travel Nepal that brings fascinating views of the mountains, and the trails are covered with blooming rhododendrons. March to May is when you get to enjoy the spring season that brings sunny days, clear skies, and is perfect for hikes and treks.

If you want to visit temples, world heritages, and other tourist places that do not require trekking or extreme traveling, any month or season is perfect for Nepal.
